Why I Choose to Stay Anonymous as a Former Stockbroker
I choose to remain anonymous for a couple of reasons. First, I spent 30 years being regulated by the SEC, FINRA, NASD (old FINRA), state and international regulatory bodies. And for every minute of those 30 years I had to be very careful how I said something and what I said, because I was licensed.
While I never had a complaint I had plenty of interviews with regulators as part of regular licensing audits. I am no longer burdened by my licensing BUT since I was a professional there might be a day when regulators come calling – since I am such a critic.
Also, even though I have almost no followers on Twitter I have already raised the ire of trolls. Some of them are unhinged. So I do not want to make it easy for them to take their threats further.
